Peek's Floor Co. History

Peek's has been a Dallas tradition for over 40 years. In 2002, Peek's was acquired by the Mill Creek family of companies. It has continued to grow and there are now nine north Dallas locations.  For more than 75 years, Mill Creek has been supplying the finest quality building materials with the same award-winning service envisioned by its founder, L.E. “Pete” Dunn.

In 1934, Mr.Dunn started his lumber company with a commitment to service and professional expertise. Today, the same commitment is practiced in all areas of our expanding company. Mill Creek is still owned by the Dunn family of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is led by Jeff Dunn as President, and his father, Jim, who serves as Chairman.

Today, the company offers much more than just lumber from its 30 locations. Texas and Oklahoma professionals in the building and construction business, as well as designers and homeowners, depend on us for just about everything in building materials. In addition to our lumber company, we have twenty carpet and tile stores, a new kitchen center, and a windows and doors division. No matter where you shop, you’ll never find a friendlier atmosphere than at one of our many Peek's and Mill Creek locations.  

Our carpet divisions in both Texas and Oklahoma are some of our fastest growing sectors in the Mill Creek family of stores. Jack Rodden, President and General Manager of Peek's and the Mill Creek Carpet & Tile stores, started with the company when there was only one location in Tulsa. After just ten years, the stores have grown from that one to eleven Oklahoma locations and nine Peek's Floor Co. stores. The Mill Creek companies employ approximately 500 full-time employees in its 30 locations throughout Texas and Oklahoma. In every location, we strive to give our customers a positive experience with our award-winning customer service.
